Madeleine is 12 years old and will
be a seventh-grader at Hillel Day School. She loves art, creative writing, baseball, and summer camp. She hopes to be a designer one
day. She lives with her mother, Sonia, her father, Sheldon, her brother and sister, Brett and Brittany, and her dog, Hershel, in Bloomfield
Hills. The family belongs to Congregation Shaarey Zedek.
Josh Graff
Josh is 13 years old and will be an eighth grader at Hillel
Day School. He loves photography, computer arts, gaming, and biking. He hopes to be an electrical engineer at a car company some day.
He lives with his mother and father, Patrice and Steve, and his sister, Alissa, in Huntington Woods. The family belongs to Congregation
Shaarey Zedek.
Lisa Kent
Lisa is 16 years old and will be a junior at Cranbrook Kingswood in Bloomfield Hills. She is a competitive
equestrian jumper, runs cross-country and loves water sports, travel, animals, and playing the piano. She and her family belong to
Temple Israel. She has two younger brothers, Sam and Josh.
Ashley Naftaly
Ashley is about to turn 13 years old and will be an eighth
grader at Abbott Middle School. She loves writing and reading. She has won two awards and has been published through Creative
Communications. One day she hopes to be a fashion designer and has already started her own clothing line. She enjoys cheerleading
and gymnastics. She lives with her mother, Tracy, father, Greg, sister, Jessica, and dog, Tramp. The family belongs to
Temple Israel.
Cameron Peres
Cameron is 12 years old and attends West Hills Middle School. He originally was scheduled to compete in
tennis during the Games, but suffered an injury over the summer. He joined the Star Reporter staff to remain involved in the Games.
Cameron and his family belong to Temple Israel. He enjoys sports and lives in West Bloomfield with his mother, Michelle, father,
Edward, and brother, Kyle, who is eight years old.
Alison Shulman
Alison is 13 years old and attends Dunckel Middle School. She
enjoys music, animals, reading and shopping. Alison and her family belong to Temple Kol Ami. She enjoys music, animals, reading, and
shopping. She lives in Farmington Hills with her mother, Suzanne, father, Greg, and brother, Brandon, who is bowling for the Detroit
Maccabi team.

Jake Gordon
Jake is
16 years old and will be a junior at Bloomfield Hills Andover High School. He loves journalism and is a co-sports editor for the award-winning
Andover Shield. He has been published in the Detroit Free Press, and has won a superior award at the Ball State writing contests.
He plays football and participates on the state championship forensics team. He lives with his mother, Debra, father, James, and his
three siblings, Allie, Max, and Sam. The family belongs to Temple Israel.
Marissa McClain
Marissa is 17 years old and will be a senior
at Bloomfield Hills Andover High School. Marissa is an accomplished artist and a member of the yearbook staff and Andover’s state
championship forensics team. Marissa finished third in the state in the sales category last year. She is an active member of the Kulanu
chapter of BBG. She lives in Bloomfield Hills with her mother, Marilyn Madorsky, father, Robert, sister, Samantha, and dogs,
Hershey and Wally. The family belongs to Congregation Shaarey Zedek.
