Science is all around!

Science is happening all around us every day.  As parents our job is to point out to children the many changes taking place in our environment and stop to examine items closely and ask questions.

Some ideas to stimulate interest in science include taking your child on walks around the neighborhood and have them collect small rocks and leaves on the ground. They can observe the differences in each and talk about what they see.

With spring here it is a perfect time to plant a garden or some seeds in a pot and watch them grow.

National Geographic has a web site on Science News for Kinds to help fire your child's imagination at www.sciencenewsforkids.org/
