Pontiac -- Division 3 No. 7-ranked Detroit Country Day used two goals by junior forward Kayla Addison to beat Richmond 3-1 in a hard, steady rain on June 3 in a Michigan High School Athletic Association Region 11 semifinal at Notre Dame Prep.

The Yellowjackets advance to the regional final Friday, June 6 at 7 p.m. against host Notre Dame Prep. The Irish beat Ann Arbor Gabriel Richard 3-1 to advance.

Addison scored her first goal with 14:52 left in the first half, beating the Richmond defenders and finding the right side of the net.

"She (Addison) is our leading scorer," said Head Coach Bob Bukari. "Things start with her. Her goals changed everything."

A little more than a minute later, sophomore Anna Sieloff scored on a free kick from 35 yards out to give the Yellowjackets a 2-0 lead at the 13:22 mark of the first half.

"She hit a rocket. I don't think there is a goalie in the state that could have stopped that goal," said Bukari.

Richmond closed the gap to 2-1 on a goal by Jessica McCullough with 5:50 left in the half.

Addison finished the scoring with a goal with 17:05 left in the game to give Country Day a 3-1 advantage. It was Addison's 27th goal of the season.

Country Day improves to 17-4-1. The Yellowjackets look to get back to the championship game again this season after falling in district play in 2007. Country Day was state champion in 2004 and runner-up in 2005 and 2006. Richmond finishes a fine season at 18-4-1.

In the other game in Region 11, host Notre Dame Prep dominated play to eliminate Ann Arbor Gabriel Richard 3-1.

Officials were forced to call the game with 10:52 left in the second half when a spectator rushed the field and verbally threatened a referee. Notre Dame Prep officials quickly and professionally took control of the unfortunate situation and escorted the spectator off the field without further incident.

The tense few minutes and early calling of the game marred a great performance by Notre Dame Prep both offensively and defensively. Junior Paige Aiello found the net twice in the game and junior Emily Gray nailed the other goal for the Irish. Notre Dame Prep improves to 14-6-4.
