Bloomfield Hills -- Pontiac Notre Dame Prep improved to 10-1 on the season with a dominating 12-3 win over Bloomfield United on April 26.

Seniors Robert Healy and Michael Recchia both scored five goals to lead the Irish. Thomas Sardelli added a goal and three assists. Christopher Thieda scored a goal. Matthew Raupp-Gardner and Mitchell Glenn both contributed two assists on the day.

The Irish feature 11 seniors and look to be in the hunt for the Michigan High School Athletic Association Division 2 Championship.

Notre Dame Prep holds wins over some strong programs this season, including an 8-4 win over Orchard Lake St. Mary's on April 7.

Prep's only loss this season was a 6-3 setback to Catholic High School League rival Flint Powers Catholic on April 10. The Irish avenged that loss with an 11-4 win over Powers on April 22.

There is a good chance the two teams will meet for a third time in the upcoming CHSL playoffs. Powers has won the past two CHSL B Division titles. The Irish will be looking for their first CHSL title since 2001.

To reach the state semifinals, Prep will have to win a very tough regional that features 2006 Division 2 Champion Bloomfield Cranbrook Kingswood, St. Mary's, Saline, Davison, Grosse Pointe North, Grosse Pointe Woods University Liggett, Harrison Township L'Anse Creuse, Madison Heights Bishop Foley, and Rochester Adams.

Bloomfield fell to 2-7 on the season.
