Grosse Pointe – The game lasted only one half, but Grosse Pointe North was able to notch an official 1-0 win over three-time defending Michigan High School Athletic Association Division 1 Champion Novi on April 11.

North's Nicolette Capizzo goal on an assist from Paula Kennedy midway in the first half off a corner kick ended up being the only scoring in the game.

The first half was completed under a light rain, but a lightning sighting caused a mandatory 30-minute delay starting the second half. After several more lightning delays, the game was finally called.

The Norsemen improve to 2-0 on the season as they continue to show they can compete with the state's top teams. North had a strong playoff run in 2007, winning a regional title before falling to powerhouse Rochester in the state semifinals.

The Wildcats fall to 3-1 on the season.
