Roughriders win opener

Birmingham Roeper beats Auburn Hills Christian 60-45 in MHSAA boys basketball district opener on Monday, March 4, 2013

 

   Senior Garrett House scored 27 points to lead Birmingham Roeper past Auburn Hills Christian 60-45 in a Michigan High School Athletic Association Class D, District 104 boys basketball playoff opener on Monday, March 4, at Roeper’s Community Center in Bloomfield Hills.

   Senior Abe Hawshi added 10 points for Roeper. Senior Luke Robore led Auburn Hills Christian in scoring with 17.

   Roeper trailed 27-26 at halftime, but House dominated the third quarter as Roeper pulled ahead 45-33 after three quarters.

   Junior Daryl Hurley added six points and sophomore Max Whipple and junior Graeme Schulman both scored five for Roeper (6-13).

   Roeper advances to face Macomb Christian on Wednesday, March 6.
