Wildcats stay alive

Oxford routs Southfield-Lathrup 48-6 to keep its state football playoff hopes alive

Oxford left no doubt beating Oakland Activities Association White rival Southfield-Lathrup 48-6 on a rainy homecoming night on its home blue turf on Friday, Oct. 5, to remain in the hunt for a Michigan High School Athletic Association playoff spot.

The Wildcats improved to 4-3 overall with the victory. Lathrup fell to 1-6.

Oxford senior Liam Logan rushed for four touchdowns, three coming in the first quarter, as the Wildcats took a 34-0 halftime lead. Logan finished with 133 yards and four touchdowns. Junior Ben Line and senior Zack Hadorn both found the end zone.

Sophomore quarterback Glacier Wallington tossed a 50-yard touchdown pass to senior Kyle Anderson. Freshman John Patrick and Hadorn both had eight sacks for the Wildcats.

Oxford looks for its fifth win next week against unbeaten Oak Park.
