Oakland Press-- There’s nothing like winning a game with sheer precision and execution.

But when that’s simply not happening, it’s nice to know there’s a backup plan to go to in the form of pure sandlot football.

Such was the case for Pontiac’s football team against Hazel Park in a huge Oakland Activities Association Blue Division battle on Friday.

The Marine City defense held Clinton Township Clintondale scoreless on Friday.

Grand Rapids Press -- It did not necessarily thrust East Kentwood into title contention, but it still was a landmark win.

Falcons coach Greg Hudkins said Friday's 22-19 come-from-behind win against Muskegon eventually will be viewed as helping the program turn a corner.

The Big Reds had beaten East Kentwood four consecutive times since entering the O-K Red in 2005, averaging 44 points per game. But East Kentwood's defense limited ...

Detroit News -- Southeastern quarterback Edward Thomas wasn't having one of his better games against King, but when it counted, he made sure his team remained undefeated.

"Every time I turned it over, I kept telling my guys I was gonna get it back for us," said Thomas, who had ...
