Going into this season, no one at the Jean and Samuel Frankel Jewish Academy of Metropolitian Detroit could remember the last year the boys varsity soccer team won a single game.
So when the Jaguars tied their first game this season, the team celebrated the fact they didn't lose.
But the tie sparked a turnaround for the Jaguars as they have gone on to accomplish something no other soccer team in the decade-long school history has ever done -- earn a winning record.
The Jaguars won their third game of the season Thursday, Sept. 24, beating Catholic High School League rival Waterford Our Lady of the Lakes 2-1 at Drake Park.
The victory moved the Jewish
Academy to 3-2-1 on the season.

Wide receiver D.J. Mershman and his teammates hope to lead Sterling Heights Stevenson to their first state championship this season.
"We all hurt really bad, but we really wanted to win," said Pioneer's Olivia Barrow, a sophomore who took second in the 500 freestyle (5:29.03). "We did good and really pushed through."

News’ top-ranked Sterling Heights Stevenson (4-0) will host No. 2-Macomb Dakota (4-0) at 7 tonight in a Macomb Area Conference Red Division game.
Stevenson coach Rick Bye and Dakota coach Mike Giannone agree there's a lot at stake. The winner takes sole possession of first place with two division games remaining, moves closer to an undefeated season and earns home-field advantage in the state playoffs.

Kepes tied the score with a power shot from 20 yards out. Freshman Jonah Folbe scored the eventual game-winner later in the first half.
Junior Aaron Folbe earned the win in goal for the Jaguars, stopping several shots.
Grand Haven Tribune -- Here's a question to ponder: What's the more difficult task to accomplish — training and riding
quarter horses, or defeating two-time defending state champion
Grand Haven senior Mindy Marx hopes she'll have both accomplished by the end of the fall.
