Petoskey News -- Nathan Cook had a game-high 21 points and 10 rebounds as Harbor Light Christian defeated Ellsworth, 43-27, Monday in a Northern Lakes Conference contest between the league’s top two teams.
With the win, the Swordsmen improve to 10-1 overall, 8-0 league and take a two-game lead in the conference standings over the Lancers, who fall to 6-4, 6-2. Also for Harbor Light, Caleb Lambert and David Doucette had six points apiece, while Collin Hewitt added seven assists and five steals.

AnnArbor.com -- Fact: The Saline High School boys swimming and diving team is undefeated and performing like a state championship contender.
Fact: This past fall, the Saline girls brought home the school’s first swimming state championship.
Fact: Before this school year, the two programs had just one top-five state finish between them.
Which begs the question: Is there something in the water in Saline?
Well, technically, yes. Lots and lots of swimmers, in all age ranges.
“I think what you’re seeing right now is a culmination of the (swimming) programs being out there,” said Saline girls and boys varsity coach Todd Brunty.

The win improved the Ventures to 7-6 on the season.
Bishop Foley jumped out to a 31-12 lead at half. Head coach Dave Joseph left his starters in only a few minutes in the third quarter before letting his bench finish the game. Every Foley player scored in the win.
Senior Sarah Sinagoga scored 10 for Foley. Senior Lauren Mitchell had eight. Junior Anna Sinagoga and sophomore Jaclyn Bieniewicz both totaled six. Seniors Kari Hoepner and Kam Haifleigh chipped in five.
The Ventures sit in first place in Catholic High School League West Division at 3-3.
Foley has a big game this Friday against Class C No. 10-ranked Royal Oak Shrine. Shrine plays in the CHSL East Division. The game at Shrine will benefit cancer research.

Central ski teams to a sweep Monday in an invitational at
McLachlan won the slalom (60.93) and giant slalom (46.60) as the girls finished with 35 points. Petoskey was second (91), Traverse City West fourth (170) and St. Francis ninth (254).
