Bulldogs reach regional final

Birmingham United holds off Grosse Pointe South 17-9 in a MHSAA girls lacrosse Division 1, Region 3 semifinal game on Tuesday, May 31, 2016

 

   Birmingham United held off Grosse Pointe 17-9 in a Michigan High School Athletic Association Division 1, Region 3 girls lacrosse semifinal game on Tuesday, May 31, at West Bloomfield.

   Birmingham (12-6) led 12-2 at halftime. Grosse Pointe South wasn’t able to close the gap to less than six goals in the second half.

   Senior Anna Stachler led Birmingham with seven goals. Senior Annie Schechter scored four goals. Junior Danielle Augier had three goals. Senior Jenna Bazil had two goals.

   Junior K.J. Blumberg earned the victory in goal.

   Birmingham faces Bloomfield Hills in the regional final on Friday, June 3.

   Bloomfield Hills beat Bloomfield Hills Marian 15-9 in the other semifinal on Tuesday.
