Livingston County Daily Press & Argus -- Call it a tuneup if you will.

The Hartland cheer team cruised to its second straight Kensington Lakes Activities Association Lakes Conference title Saturday and it only has the Eagles thirsty for more.

"It means a lot because of our hard work and dedication," said Hartland junior Lizzy Ventura. "It went good, but we still need to practice. Hopefully we'll get back to states."

Grand Rapids Press -- Dillon Francisco handled the pressure.

The scenario was simple for the Comstock Park sophomore: A win against Cedar Springs' Austin Wamser in their 145-pound championship match in the last match of the OK Blue Conference wrestling tournament, and Francisco's Panthers edge Cedar Springs in the final team standings.

Francisco wrestled a smart match and beat Wamser 3-0.

His win gave Comstock Park the tournament championship Saturday with 161 points, a half-point ahead of Cedar Springs. Coopersville was third with 145.5 points, followed by Sparta in fourth with 143.5 points.

"That was tough, but the pressure gives me a boost, it helps," Francisco said. "It makes you wrestle smarter and harder.
